Emanuel Sousa (MSc, PhD) is a Senior Researcher and the head of the department for Human-Technology Interaction and Robotics at the CCG Institute in Portugal. He earned an MSc in Electronics and Computers in 2008 and a PhD in Robotics in 2015, both from the University of Minho in Portugal. At CCG, he has participated in several research projects, funded both nationally and internationally, focusing on human-machine interaction. His research interests encompass various topics, including Cognitive Robotics, Virtual Reality-based simulation, Human factors in road transportation, and human-vehicle interaction. Currently, he serves as a co-PI in a project funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, including journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. Additionally, he has co-supervised 2 PhD theses and is currently supervising a third. He has also co-supervised 3 MSc dissertations and is supervising 2 more. He is a member of Working Group 8 - TICS on-board-MMI at the ISO TC22 SC39 - Ergonomics in Road Vehicles committee.
