Diana Gouveia Amaral (1994) is an architect and urban planner graduated in the School of Architecture of the University of Minho (Portugal). Her academic path includes international experiences, such as her enrollment in the International Master of Architecture at the KU Leuven in Ghent as part of Erasmus+ program. Professionally, she integrates projects of different scales and approaches, highlighting her involvement in social and participatory projects, urban and mobility plans (2017-2019), and in façade engineering on international projects (2019-2021). Currently, Diana is a PhD researcher at KU Leuven and at University of Minho, a member of Lab2PT (UMinho) and Urban Projects, Collective Spaces and Local Identities (KULeuven) research group and student representative in the Doctoral College at University of Minho. By working on technology and façade design the PhD research emerges as an encounter between the façade and the urban scale: “Rethinking collective spaces through the facade element: from formality to informality” supported through national Portuguese funds of FCT.
