Cristina Maria Falcão Severo Ferreira Pinto Mendes de Freitas. Doutoramento em Literatura (2006), pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, Mestrado em Literaturas Românicas Modernas e Contemporâneas (1988), pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, e Licenciatura em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas - Estudos Franceses e Ingleses (1984), pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto. Professora Coordenadora da Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico do Porto. Atualmente, é Presidente do Conselho Técnico-Científico. É ainda Diretora da licenciatura em Línguas e Culturas Estrangeiras e membro da Comissão Científica do mestrado em Ensino de Inglês no 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. Desenvolve trabalho e investigação na área das Literaturas (ênfase em literaturas em língua inglesa) e dos Estudos Culturais (ênfase em culturas em língua inglesa, estudos culturais pós-coloniais e Comunicação Intercultural). Cristina Maria Falcão Severo Ferreira Pinto Mendes de Freitas. Completed the PhD in Literature in 2006, by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, the Master’s Degree Modern and Contemporary Romance Literatures, in 1988 by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, and the bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (French and English Studies) in 1984 by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. She is a Coordinator Professor at the School of Education (Polytechnic of Porto). Currently she is the President of the Scientific Council. She is the Director of the Bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages and Cultures and a member of the scientific committee of the Master's in Teaching English to Young Learners. She works in the area(s) of Humanities - Languages and Literatures with an emphasis on Specific Literatures (in English) and Social Sciences with an emphasis on Cultural Studies, post-colonial cultures and Intercultural Communication.
