Hélder José Couto Oliveira completed a PhD in Sustainable Chemistry in 2018 from the University of Porto, a Master's in Biochemistry in 2014 and a Degree in Biochemistry in 2012 from the same institution. He is currently a CEEC Researcher hired by LAQV-REQUIMTE and invited adjunct professor at the Escola Superior de Saúde of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. He is the Principal Investigator of the project AnthoE.Flos (2022.01014.PTDC). He participated in several scientific, academic and social projects, including the presidency of the Portuguese Biochemistry Students Association from 2014 to 2018 and the development of scientific work in China, at Wuhan Polytechnic University. His area of expertise involves the study of the bioavailability and bioactivity of polyphenols (anthocyanins). He is member of the executive board of Associação Nacional de Bioquímicos. He speaks fluent English and has a third degree of Chinese language and culture. He has been involving in the supervision of several undergraduates students. He is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of three scientific group websites: www.foodphenolab.com; www.groupepolyphenols.com; www.anthoeflos.com.
