Beatriz Henriques Ferreira, MSc in Health Sciences, is a PhD student at iBiMED and CICECO, University of Aveiro. During her master, developed at ICVS (University of Minho), Beatriz described the ploidy of Sporothrix spp. At the moment, Beatriz works on the biology of plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC) and their response to ER stress. Also, she intends to elucidate pDC-mediated fibrosis and to explore immunomodulation as a means to tackle lung fibrosis. Beatriz is the first author/co-author of two publications, and co-author of four other papers in the area of fungal genetics, antifungal resistance and immunomodulation. Moreover, she presented her work orally in national and international events.
