Beatriz H. Ferreira holds a BSc in Biotechnology (2013) from the University of Aveiro and a MSc in Health Sciences (2016) from the University of Minho, Portugal. She completed her PhD in 2024 at University of Aveiro, where she investigated the immune mechanisms underlying inflammation, autoimmunity and fibrosis, with a specific emphasis on the role of plasmacytoid dendritic cells, ER stress and cellular metabolism in systemic sclerosis. Currently, Beatriz is a postdoctoral researcher at Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), studying the mechanisms driving myositis pathogenesis. She has actively contributed to multidisciplinary and collaborative projects and has mentored bachelor’s and master’s students. Beatriz has presented her work at national and international conferences and is first author/co-author of five research articles, as well as co-author of another five publications.
