Filipa Monteiro Neves Rocha holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from NOVA School of Science and Technology | FCT NOVA. Subsequently, she completed her Master's in Molecular Bioengineering, a collaborative program between FEUP and ICBAS at the University of Porto. Her Master's thesis, graded at 20 out of 20, was conducted at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, under the guidance of Dr. Amit Kumar in the Prof. Nordberg Translational Molecular Imaging Lab. Following the completion of her Master's, Filipa continued her research at the same institution as a Research Assistant until December 2023. Her primary focus during this period was on projects dedicated to the preclinical validation of PET tracers, targeting various biomarkers associated with neurodegenerative diseases. These efforts resulted in the publication of a book chapter and a review paper. Filipa is also a co-author of a submitted paper, and another original work that is currently under preparation. During her time at Karolinska Institutet, Filipa had the opportunity to present a poster at AAIC 2023 - the Alzheimer's Association International Conference held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Presently, she has embarked on a new challenge as a Research Fellow, contributing to the project "A Therapeutic Strategy to Combat Blood-Brain Barrier Aging" within the Advanced Therapies Group at the CNC Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC).
